All UAE residents – regardless of nationality – can apply for a US visa from Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Visa approval depends on passport type and meeting the U.S. visa requirements.
The following documents need to be carried with you on the interview date
Start by deciding the purpose of your travel, such as tourism, studying, or working in the US. Based on this, choose the correct visa category. You can visit the U.S. The Department of State website to learn more on different types of visas and their requirements, or contact visa experts like us, and we will guide you throughout the entire process.
Visit the Consular Electronic Application Center website to fill out the DS-160 form. Make sure you complete it accurately and truthfully. You will also need to upload a photo that meets US visa photo guidelines. After submitting the form, print the confirmation page with the barcode. You must bring this to your visa interview.
Once you have completed the DS-160 form, go to the website of the US Embassy or Consulate in the UAE to find instructions for paying the visa fee. For most non-immigrant visas, the fee is $185. Keep the payment receipt, as you’ll need it for your appointment.
After paying the fee, schedule your interview appointment through the US Embassy or Consulate website (either in Abu Dhabi or Dubai). Use the same DS-160 barcode number while booking. Keep in mind that each person applying, including children, must have a separate appointment. Appointments cannot be scheduled by email.
Go to the US Embassy or Consulate on the date and time of your appointment. Bring all the required documents, including your passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel),residence visa, the DS-160 confirmation page, the appointment letter, and any supporting documents like NOC and salary certificate. Be ready to answer questions about your travel plans, ties to the UAE, and when you plan to return.
